Revlon's Glamour Girl Eye Shadow Palette

This year I have been trying to invest in eye shadow palettes more as it saves a lot of space when it comes to an ever increasing cosmetic collection. At the Clicks cosmetic sale earlier this month, I spotted this gem by Revlon. It is an 8 colour eye shadow palette called "Glamour Girl and it was a steal at only R50!
Initially, I wasn't going to purchase it but after seeing the prices of regular palettes, I just had have it. After getting home, inspecting and swatching, I knew I made a good decision. All the colours are amazingly pigmented and have an alluring shimmer. Glamour girl is an apt name for a palette like this.

Revlon is a great brand with great quality cosmetics. This palette proves it. My favourite colours would be the copper colours as well as the bright blue and olive green!

Knowing what I know now, if I spotted this on the shelves, I wouldn't mind paying the full price. I'm so happy I have these colours to work with on a night out or even spicing up an otherwise bland office look.

Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain {Update #1}

The very kind ladies at Revlon sent me a few Balm Stains to try out and report back to you ladies about, so here I am with an update of my previous blog post titled "Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains".

The colour I will be testing in this update is a very pretty lilac shade called "Darling".

I applied the balm stain at 10:30 am and put hourly reminders on my phone so that I could track real time images of exactly how much it faded after each hour passed by. So here goes:

As you can see this very potent balm stain lasted an amazing 6 hours!! The tint lasted throughout the day, keeping in mind, I drank tons of coffee ate snacks regularly. The only downside is the glossy-ness went away after the second hour, but seriously, its definitely worth R99 a pop (just apply a clear gloss if you'd like the shiny effect).

This colour matches my wardrobe quite nicely as most of my clothes require a lighter face. This is the perfect "lippie" to wear at work, whether you're a pole dancer (no judgement here) or in a corporate environment, Revlon has you covered.

You can buy these babes at most "drug stores" (Dischem, Clicks, Major pharmacies and all that jazz). Keep an eye out for my 2nd update coming soon :)

Don't forget to visit Revlon on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. Do the same for me, here and here

Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

"It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood." - Source

I stopped at my nearest Clicks Store recently and tried out the new Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains by Revlon. Here is what my hand looked like once I realised I was acting like a pre-schooler playing in her favourite colouring-in book (left).

I stopped at the 9th balm because I was going crazy (with excitement). The 12 colours are really gorgeous. It's so difficult to find a great lip balm that will give you the 'lipstick' effect. I personally don't wear lipstick but I am constantly applying lipglosses and lip balms. This invention by Revlon is my new best friend. Unfortunately I didn't pick one up at Clicks because my purse was already dried from a previous shopping spree and R99, for one stick, would definitely be a splurge for my budget.

I have to mention the amazing colour payoff. To avoid looking like a complete 'nut' in public, I used a tissue to take the balm off my hand and this is what remained (picture above)
After rubbing a few times the colours that you see left on my hand, would not budge.

I then applied 'Lovesick' of the colours to my lips in the store and when I looked in the mirror before going to bed that night, it was still frikin on my lips!!! I was so amazed and really impressed because I was not expecting it to last through all my chatting, eating and drinking. I had it on for about 7 hours. Amazing!

There are a lot of disputes in regards to 'who did it first' as Clinique released their chubby stick colours a few months before Revlon released their just bitten kissable balm stain. To be honest I really couldn't care. The more, the better!

This, ladies, is the balm stain to have!

Have you tried it? Which colour is your favourite?

I'm feeling lucky!

I have had a lucky streak of winning prizes lately. I will be doing reviews on all of them, but for now I will be telling you about the AMAZING hamper I won from Dischem Pharmacies!

All you had to do was read Dischem's online beauty catalogue and tweet (to them), on twitter, the 1 item that you would like to win and if you won, they'd give it to you. I really wanted Neutrogena's pink grapefruit face wash and entered thinking my entry was insignificant compared to others who would've entered the competition wanting big named make-up brands or appliances etc, but to my surprise, I was one of the chosen winners!

When I went to collect my prize, I argued with the customer care guy because he wanted to give me this huge hamper and I was under the impression I was only getting 1 product (the one i won). After a lot of confused discussions and phone calls to head office, he told me that the hamper was in fact my prize. I was speechless and really impressed that Dischem took the time to put a whole bunch of goodies together to make my prize amazing!

Here are all the products that were in my hamper.
*Neutrogena pink grapefruit face wash*
*Neutrogena bag*
*Rimmel cosmetics bag (Black)*
*Rimmel eyeshadow (130-Tribute)*
*Rimmel extra super lash mascara*
*Revlon top coat*
*Puma Animagical for Women (View review here)*
*L'oreal face scrub*
*Very cute, pink Nice'n Easy umbrella*

Thanks again to Dischem for my amazing prize!!!
