Hunk of the month - May

This month's Hunk of the month is Chis Hemsworth!
(Born 11 August 1983)
Image from Google
Chris is an Australian actor best known for portraying Thor in the Marvel Studios films Thor in 2011 and The Avengers in 2012. They are currently filming Thor 2 which is said to be released next year. Excited!! Source

My previous hunks had atleast one picture with their shirt off, exposing 'perfection', but this month, Chris Hemsworth deserves Hunk of the month for keeping his shirt on (in the Avengers)!
Dont get me wrong ladies, he definately has a beyond-perfect body, its just that with his shirt on it allowed us to think clearly and not be distracted, so we could admire his other fine qualities.

Image from Google
That handsome smile and beautiful blue eyes should win an award! One thing that he has won many awards are for his acting:

*2012 Teen Choice Awards, Choice Movie Actor - Sci-Fi/Fantasy (Pending)
*2012 BAFTA, Rising Star Award
*2011 38th People's Choice Awards, Favorite Movie Superhero
*2011 Scream Awards, Best Superhero, Best Male Breakthrough Performance
*2011 Teen Choice Awards, Choice Movie Breakout Male
And many more. Source

Chris became a father earlier this month. Him and his wife, Elsa Pataky (7 years his senior), had a baby girl named India Rose. There's nothing more attractive than a nurturing guy ;)

Chris Hemsworth is an overall really great guy who is really successful in his acting career, has a great family and can now add himself to my Hunk collection!

Tip Top Nails - Crackle polish ~Video Tutorial~

I recently tried Tip Top's crackle nail polish and was thrilled at how the results turned out. Here is a video that I composed for you, to see exactly how it works.

The thing I enjoy the most about this polish, is that you can never get the exact same design on every nail...EVER! Each nail has it's own unique pattern and charm. It cracks so beautifully and dries quite quickly too, so you wont have to wait endlessly before applying the top coat.

High-five to Tip Top Nails for another great product that has my approval. You can buy your very own Tip Top Crackle polish at any Clicks store for R79.95. It is worth the investment!

You can explore their website for all the colours they offer and other nail treatment products that may help to care for your nails. You can follow them on twitter @TipTopNailsSA and like their very interactive Facebook Page where you can win some fantastic prizes on a weekly basis.

If you liked this post then i'm sure you'll love my Nail Fanatic category, check it out. Share the love and like my Facebook Page. Any Tweeps reading this can follow me @MsClairaBella for some entertaining and informative tweets and shout-outs to my favourite brands!

Indulge in Sh'zen!

Sh'zen was founded in 1989 when there was a growing demand among South African women for more natural beauty products. Since then, Sh'Zen has been a pioneer in developing award-winning, high-treatment products that ensure a more beautiful body from head to toe.

They have 7 different ranges: hands, feet, body, hair face, men and sun, and have grown from just seven products in 1989 to more than 100 today.

Besides incredible support from loyal customers throughout South Africa, Sh'Zen also enjoys support from beauty therapists, chiropodists, podiatrists and even medical doctors around the country - proof indeed of the efficacy of their products!

The very kind ladies at Sh'zen sent me three amazing products to try out which are their infamous Matrix oil, Rehydrating bath and their new Vanilla Cashmere massage oil. Now I am here to report back on what I thought :)

Matrix oil

RSP R149 for 10ml
It contains:
*Vitamins A, B, D and E, Kelp and Calcium to promote nail growth, strength and vitality,
*Carrot, Grapeseed and Jojoba oils to nourish the skin around the nail and promote cell regeneration,
*Wheatgerm, a natural Vitamin E carrier, to stimulate the formation of new skin cells,
*and Sweet Almond oil to soften and soothe the skin. Source

The combination of vitamins also repairs scar tissue in the nail matrix and so prevents the formation of bumps and ridges on the nail. It comes in an easy-to-use gloss roller bottle and is quickly absorbed.

Every child can remember getting cuts, bruises and burns, but its not often that we remember all the "secret" remedies our mothers used to make the "Ouchies" go away. For me, I remember Sh'zen's Matrix Oil being a very helpful cure for my grazes, sunburn and even bee stings. This little bottle of golden miracles, has tons of muti-uses and i can confidently say that it is the perfect handbag essential!

Your matrix? The nail matrix is the formative layer of cells at the base of the fingernail or toenail. This tissue consists of rapidly dividing skin cells that soon fill with the protein keratin. Source

Pink area indicates where your matrix is

Rehydrating Bath

RSP R155 for 250ml

This rich emollient is designed to moisturise and comfort extremely dry, cracked skin.

It's made from the finest imported waxes and is enriched with Shea Butter, known for its deep moisturising benefits as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. It also contains healing Calendula and nourishing Sweet Almond Oil, which penetrates deeply into the skin to stimulate repair.

Directions: Soften a generous amount in the palm of your hand, then apply to the body before bathing. Massage gently in the water to create a slight lather and then pat dry. Source

This is such a great product to use in winter. Besides it's divine scent, it leaves your skin so soft and nourished. I use this as a foot balm at night and my feet have never felt so soft. I love it!
I would recommend this to anyone who is concerned with dry skin or would like their skin to have an extra boost of care this winter.

Vanilla Cashmere Massage Oil

A combination of natural plant and essential oils, this all-over body treatment keeps skin silky soft and works to deeply comfort the psyche.

Vanilla, Ginger, Patchouli, Geranium and Rose essential oils create a deep, joyful and rich aroma - one that relaxes and comforts the body and psyche, and brings a feeling of security and warmth to the senses. Together they also soothe and heal tissue and work with the nourishing plant oils of Apricot, Avocado, Blackcurrant and Hazelnut to protect, nurture and rehydrate skin. Regular massage with this luxurious oil will keep your skin silky smooth, looking younger and smelling beautiful. Source

This massage oil has such a warm comforting scent that is perfect for bedtime. When I first applied it, I could smell the ginger and in the morning when I woke up I smelt like delicious Vanilla. It left my skin glowing (Not the oily kind of glowing though) and I felt rather pampered!
I love this oil for massaging sore feet and my stiff neck after a long day. This massage oil doesn't only have to be used for massaging, you can use it like a moisturiser, just apply a smaller amount to your skin. It will put you in a "feel good" mood for the whole day!

All Sh'zen products can be ordered through a Sh'zen consultant. To find a consultant near you, visit their website. If you are interested in selling Sh'zen and becoming a consultant then click here for more information.Visit Sh'zen on Facebook for great specials and news for upcoming products.

As some of you might have seen in my previous posts, I am a big fan of Crabtree & Evelyn products. I am so excited to tell you about their new, delightfully flavoured, ultra-moisturising lip butters that will be in stock from July 2012! They come in three very yummy, irresistible flavours. Choose from uplifting Citron crème & honey, refreshing Crème de menthe or even decadent Vanilla crème brûlée.
All the lip butters have a multi-butter formula, including shea, cocoa, illipe, and kokum butters, which help soothe, recondition and protect lips.
Shea butter protects the skin from both environmental and free-radical damage. It contains vitamins A and E, and has demonstrated both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Source

Cocoa butter helps reduce cutaneous dryness and for the improvement of skin elasticity.

Illipe butter is renowned for its incredible moisturizing properties and its ability to restore elasticity to the skin.

Kokum butter is a naturally white and incredibly smooth butter which has enormously high compositions of beneficial materials to help regenerate tired and worn skin cells and further supports elasticity and general flexibility of the skin wall.

These little tubes of awesomeness are preservative-free and delicately flavoured with a natural extract derived from liquorice as well as mango oil and beeswax to help maintain soft, healthy lips that make a lasting impression.

VO5 Product Review

I received a stunning VO5 hamper from Seventeen magazine last month
and I'm here to report back on how the products worked on my hair :)

My VO5 Products

Sheer Vitality Elixir Shampoo & Conditioner

Sheer Vitality Elixir Shampoo & Conditioner
I have done a review on Beauty Bulletin on these two products, (Shampoo, Conditioner) have a look and please give it a thumbs up if you like it :)

3 Minute Treatment & Anti Frizz Creme

3 Minute treatment & Anti Frizz creme
After using the 3 minute treatment, my hair felt a lot lighter and had more volume. My hair looked shinier (in a good way, not oily) and healthier. Great treatment!

I am in love with this Anti Frizz creme! It works like a bomb! My hair is way more manageable and and stays manageable until my next wash. I have noticed, however, that my hair gets oily a lot quicker. I think its because I play with my hair more (because it feels amazing!) and the oil from my hands (from lotions etc) gets onto my hair.

Here is a photo of what my hair looks like once I've washed it with the Elixir Shampoo & Conditioner, applied the Anti Frizz creme and then blow dried it straight. Love it!!

Me and my "V-Oh-5 hair"

Weather Resistant Styling Mousse

Mega Hold Styling Mousse
I have only used this mousse once and was impressed with the results. It is 24 hour humidity/ weather resistant which is always great to have. My hair goes crazy as soon as it rains!

I applied it to my damp hair before blow drying when it was raining outside, just to test it out. It worked really well as my hair didn't frizz nearly as much as it usually does in the rainy weather. The one thing I didn't like was that it did leave my hair feeling a little "Grassy" and not as soft. Still a great product to have in your hair care collection.

Common hair myths

Washing your hair every day makes it greasy?
False: An over active sebaceous hair gland makes your hair greasy, not how frequently you wash your hair.

Expensive shampoos are better than cheap ones?
False: Cheaper shampoos can be just as good as their more expensive rivals.

Washing greasy hair thoroughly removes grease?
False: Wash your hair in a gentle motion, as vigorous washing stimulates the sebaceous glands which produce more oil.

You should change your shampoo regularly to ensure it works?
False: Your hair cannot get used to anything. If everything stays the same, then your hair will continue to be the same. The effectiveness of your shampoo or conditioner can depend on changes in habit i.e. more heat styling used; changes in diet or stress levels which could affect your scalp.

Conditioners just coat your hair?
False: It depends on the hair type. On fine hair it can get coated if you’re using a very heavy conditioner but most other hair types would not be coated by a conditioner.

Washing your hair every day dries it out?
True: It depends on your hair texture, but it is advised not to wash your hair everyday unless you have to.

Eating a healthy diet makes your hair look healthier?
True: A balanced healthy diet with more Amino acids and Omega oils will help your hair look and feel healthier.

Being a vegetarian affects your hair?
True: It can do and for some people missing out on the correct proteins and irons from meat can lead your hair to be dry and thinning out. Fish oils are the best thing for your hair.

Pulling out a grey hair will be replaced by three more?
False: You have one hair to each follicle which means only one hair will come back in its place.

You can find all VO5 products at your nearest retailer (Clicks, Pick'nPay .etc). View their website for all their products and more hair advice.

Sorbet Products - A home spa experience

"Sorbet and Clicks have been working together to make our spa and shopping experiences so much better and easier. Now we have created a range of bath and body products simply for our guest's delight. Sorbet, along with Clicks, has now made it possible for all of us to get that feeling...

The new bath and body range, Sorbet, get that feeling, has just been launched and is available in Sorbet and Clicks stores nationwide. These products have been created by combining botanical extracts and essential oils. The result? The perfect home spa experience.

You can choose from seventeen exciting products from four ranges including firming, cleansing, hydrating and smoothing." Source

I have tried out two products from their new range and I'm really impressed at their quality considering their tiny price tag!

Hand & Body Lotion – R28
Softens and smooths

I have done a review on the hand and body lotion on Beauty Bulletin. Click here to check it out and please give it a thumbs up if you like it :)

Besides the amazing scent, this hand and body lotion is such a dream to apply and absorbes beautifully. There is no oily layer left after applying the lotion, my skin feels so soft and you don't need to apply it often because it lasts. It has a pump dispenser, with a 'lock' feature, making it very easy to apply.
An amazing lotion that is super affordable!

Body Butter – R40
Smooths and revitalizes your body

With this body butter, a little goes a long way. I didn't feel that my skin was any tighter or firmer when using the body butter, but it did leave my skin really smooth and nourished. I wouldn't suggest this as a day lotion as it is a bit 'heavy', but it is perfect to apply before going to sleep at night.
Great product to have on your nightstand in winter!

I cant wait until I have ALL the sorbet products because it truly is a great home spa experience.

You can buy your own Sorbet products at any Sorbet and Clicks stores
You can follow sorbet on Twitter @SorbetGroup and like their Facebook page. You can also go to their website and check out all their products and treatments.

Hunk of the month - April

April's hunk of the month is....

Thomas Joseph "T.J." Thyne, (Born March 7, 1975).

Image: Google Images
He is best known for his work on the series "Bones" as Dr. Jack Hodgins, an entomologist. Bones was feature in my March Favorites. He has appeared on TV shows like Friends, 24, The O.C., My Wife and Kids and CSI: NY (just to name a few). Source
Image: Google Images
He has earned "Hunk of the month" for the picture below (from an episode in Bones). Crazy hot torso!!! It's a crime that they covered up it up for so long. I seriously had to do a double take to make sure that it was in fact him. I am really glad he gets rid of the caveman-beard later into the series.

Besides his really hot bod, he is really successful in his acting career (I love a guy that can "bring home the bacon"). I'm giving T.J. a 4 out of 5 on the Hunk of the month scale! You can follow him on twitter @tjthyne. (All images are from Google)

I hope you enjoyed reading/staring about my Hunk of the month. You are welcome follow me on twitter @MsClairaBella and like my Facebook Page. Don't forget to subscribe by email (Top right hand side of this page) to make sure you don't miss out on posts in the future.

I'm feeling lucky!

I have had a lucky streak of winning prizes lately. I will be doing reviews on all of them, but for now I will be telling you about the AMAZING hamper I won from Dischem Pharmacies!

All you had to do was read Dischem's online beauty catalogue and tweet (to them), on twitter, the 1 item that you would like to win and if you won, they'd give it to you. I really wanted Neutrogena's pink grapefruit face wash and entered thinking my entry was insignificant compared to others who would've entered the competition wanting big named make-up brands or appliances etc, but to my surprise, I was one of the chosen winners!

When I went to collect my prize, I argued with the customer care guy because he wanted to give me this huge hamper and I was under the impression I was only getting 1 product (the one i won). After a lot of confused discussions and phone calls to head office, he told me that the hamper was in fact my prize. I was speechless and really impressed that Dischem took the time to put a whole bunch of goodies together to make my prize amazing!

Here are all the products that were in my hamper.
*Neutrogena pink grapefruit face wash*
*Neutrogena bag*
*Rimmel cosmetics bag (Black)*
*Rimmel eyeshadow (130-Tribute)*
*Rimmel extra super lash mascara*
*Revlon top coat*
*Puma Animagical for Women (View review here)*
*L'oreal face scrub*
*Very cute, pink Nice'n Easy umbrella*

Thanks again to Dischem for my amazing prize!!!

Follow Dischem on Twitter and like their Facebook Page to enter into their future competitions.

I share every competition that I enter so you are welcome follow me on twitter @MsClairaBella and like my Facebook Page to enter as well. Don't forget to subscribe by email (Top right hand side of this page) to make sure you don't miss out on my posts in the future.
